This Privacy Policy explains what information the FlipSnap mobile game ("the app", "we", "our") collects when you play, how it is used, and the choices you have. FlipSnap is developed and published by NHIM SOKLAKLIN ("the developer"). FlipSnap is designed as a family-friendly memory game and we aim to collect as little information as possible.
1. Information We Collect
FlipSnap only collects the minimum data needed to run the game and power the global leaderboard:
- Username — a nickname between 3 and 12 characters that you enter during onboarding. This name is displayed publicly on the leaderboard alongside your scores. Please do not use your real name, email, phone number, or any other personal information as your username.
- Anonymous account ID — when you first open the app, Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous identifier so your scores can be saved to your device and the global leaderboard. This ID is not linked to your email, phone number, Google account, or any other personal profile.
- Gameplay data — your score, number of moves, completion time, selected theme, and difficulty level for each completed game.
- Local preferences — your username, sound-effects setting, best scores, and last-used theme/difficulty are stored on your device using local storage.
2. How We Use the Information
- To display your best scores on your device.
- To submit your scores to the global leaderboard so you can compete with other players.
- To remember your settings between sessions.
- To keep the app running reliably and diagnose technical problems.
We do not sell your personal information. We display advertisements served by Google AdMob to support development of the app — see Section 4 below.
3. Third-Party Services
FlipSnap uses the following Google Firebase services to operate the leaderboard and authentication:
- Firebase Authentication — provides the anonymous account ID.
- Cloud Firestore — stores leaderboard entries (username, score, difficulty, theme, timestamp).
Google processes this data as our service provider. For details on how Google handles data, see the Firebase Privacy and Security page and the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
FlipSnap is supported by advertisements provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. AdMob may collect and process the following information to deliver and measure ads:
- Advertising identifier (such as the Android Advertising ID / AAID).
- Device information (model, operating system version, language, screen size).
- IP address and approximate (city/country-level) location derived from it.
- Information about ad interactions (impressions, clicks).
This information is used by Google to serve ads (which may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your device settings and consent), to measure ad performance, and to detect fraud and abuse.
Your choices:
- Reset or limit your Advertising ID: On Android, go to Settings → Google → Ads to reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads.
- Consent (EEA / UK / Switzerland users): Where required by law, you will be shown a consent screen on first launch to choose between personalized and non-personalized ads.
- Family / child-directed treatment: Because FlipSnap is family-friendly, we configure AdMob to request only non-personalized, age-appropriate ads where applicable.
For more details on how Google uses this data, please review:
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
- Google Privacy Policy
- AdMob & AdSense data disclosures
5. Permissions
FlipSnap requests only the Internet permission, which is required to submit scores to and read scores from the global leaderboard and to load advertisements. The app does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, precise location, or personal storage.
6. Children's Privacy
FlipSnap is designed to be safe for players of all ages, including children. Within the app itself we do not collect real names, email addresses, or any other personal contact information, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
Because the app shows advertisements via Google AdMob, AdMob is configured to request only non-personalized and family-appropriate ads where applicable. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has entered information you would like removed, or you have questions about ads shown to your child, please contact us at the email address below and we will promptly take action.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
- Local data on your device (best scores, settings, username) can be cleared at any time using the in-app Reset Best Scores option in Settings, or by uninstalling the app.
- Leaderboard data is retained on Firestore so other players can see the rankings. You may request deletion of all leaderboard entries linked to your username by contacting us.
8. Security
Data submitted to the leaderboard is transmitted over HTTPS. Firestore access is restricted by server-side security rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we collect.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
